What “Water Paper” Means

• These sheets are generally waterproof sanding paper that can be used wet or dry, helping reduce dust and clogging when used with water/lubricant. 

• Commonly known as 3M Wetordry™ abrasive sheets — made with silicon carbide abrasive on a waterproof backing. 

• They’re used for surface preparation on wood, metal, paint, fillers, plastics, etc., especially between coats or for fine finishing. 

Tips for Use

• Using water helps lubricate and carry away sanding grit, keeping the paper working longer and producing a smoother finish. 

• Start with a lower grit number for heavier sanding and move to higher grits (e.g., 1000-2000) for fine finishing.
